Rights Movement, Wrong Way!

Greetings to you. I am Elijah Muhammad, the preacher of Freedom, Justice and Equality to my people in America, who have been lost for the last 400 years and deprived from even enjoying human rights, let alone, civil rights. And, today, I would like to say to you that the Time has arrived that the so-called American Negro should receive Justice. He should receive that which belongs to him. Not that which belongs to someone else, but that which belongs to him.

The question is, today, whether or not civil rights movements, that is now going on throughout the country with sit-ins and stand-ins and lay-ins, will effect anything like a future for our people. This, I say to you--I don't mean to be hostile. I don't mean to be an enemy to my people, but a friend to them--This will not get us a future with our people in the world. We should be trying to get a future for self and not trying to seek a future with white people.

The white people have their own way of civilization. We have not had any civilization, nor any society worthwhile among ourselves. We have been like brute beasts in the land. A people that is robbed, completely, of the knowledge of themselves and of their kind and roaming over the country that is ruled by the white man.

Now, today, all of a sudden, the white man says he will give them civil rights or that he will also pass some kind of a law to appease their hunger of justice, for justice, among our people. Our people are hungry for justice. Not so much as any other right, as they are the right of justice in this country and their leaders, who are absolutely ignoring the right way to achieve freedom, justice and equality for the people.

You can't make a dog out of yourself and then ask civilized society to respect the dog. You must remember, to be respected by civilized society, you must appear in civilized society as a civilized member of a decent society. This means that we must first prepare our self and our people to join on to any society that is worthwhile.

The white race has built their society and now, today, we are fighting, you say, for civil rights to be recognized as a civil being and have the rights of a civil being and not one of a savage. If this be the case with you, God has brought the solution for it. God has offered to you and me the right solution. That is, accept your own. Be yourself! This is the main important thing that the Negro must first accept, as he's called. He's not a Negro, but he's a lost and found member of the original or aboriginal people of the Earth--The Black Nation.

If you want an intelligent solution to the matter that you are involved in today, that you are criticizing yourself and absolutely disgracing yourself before the whole entire world, because your disgrace is being displayed on the TV throughout the world. And your solution that you want to use to solve your problem for civil rights or rights with the white people is wrong and only means temporary.

We have lived in this part of the earth for the past 400 years. We don't look for a temporary solution to our problem today. We look for a permanent solution to our problem and not a temporary one. A temporary one just won't work! We must have a permanent solution to the problem.

We cannot, if we want to, at least I don't want to do this, nor my followers, but you, who have not accepted the Divine Program of God for your solution, then I say, you cannot hope for nothing permanent in what you are seeking.

There is no such thing as justice being carried out by the law of the land in this part of the world. The government, itself, cannot boast that it is trying to force a law of justice between you and them or between citizen and citizen. It is not doing so. This is a very corrupt world of politics. And the corrupt politics that is dealing with the situation today, the civil rights movement, is only temporary.

Maybe in this particular four years of another President and Congress of the country may allow you to enjoy a little more justice or a little more integration than you has received in the past four years. But does that mean that that will be permanent? They could take this Congress, this President out of office, after four years, and put them out and in with their own motion, or mind, or ideas that they have for or against what this administration has practiced with you.

A false friendship is no friendship at all. This I want you to know, you leaders of the civil rights movement. A false friendship is not a friend at all. I repeat.

You are not getting for your people anything of permanence. You can not say that you can out-strip the white man in his own crooked and corrupt politics, when that he is your teacher. That is his politics. The political world that they have built has failed on them and don't function for them anymore to their good. It has become a confused world, as far as political is concerned. You grabbing one end of its alphabetical situation or learnings, thinking that you have something to fight the teacher with, who originated the political machine and using the political machine to his own good. And if it's not to his good, he's certainly not going to use it to your good. This you have no law in life.

What future do you think that you have to try to out-wit him in own politics? Do you think that you are a greater scientist or scholar in his political world than he, himself? Well then, what do you hope to achieve? Can you achieve future success for yourself and your children by baptizing them into the whiteman's corrupt politics, which has failed themselves and the world? Do you think that you will be better off, by giving over your daughters, which has always been at the mercy of the white man for the past 400 years that will make a better future for yourself? Which will destroy your very identity?

As I have said time and again and again, you won't destroy their identity. They are not that silly. But they will destroy your identity. And there are about fifty percent of our people who don't mind aligning the white slave master's children to destroy their identity. They have become in love with the identity of the white man. And not the love for their own because no one never taught them anything of self.

No one never knew anything to teach them of themselves but the enemy who ruled over them. And that didn't happen and the didn't happen today. It is not the white people that is teaching you the true identity of yourself and the great future which God has in store for you. It is God, Himself, doing that through me. I am the one that is teaching you that from God. And others who join with me or following me into that and is reeling the same teachings to you. But I, Elijah, Number One, is the Messenger of Allah to you and who is actually bringing you into the light of the knowledge of yourself, as God desire that you be brought in to it. And teaching you the knowledge of other people, that you may be able to carry, aright, yourself -- stand erect upon your two feet in the face of the civilized world and recognize yourself as one equal member of the civilizations.

You cannot achieve anything like success in the way that you are going; laying in, and standing in, and making yourself a dog. That's exactly what you are doing. I don't want to call you a dog but I'm using your act, that which resembles a dog's actions.

He lays down to his master's feet. He takes and whips his tail on the ground or the floor, as a sign to his master, with his ears lying down on his neck, to show his master, "I am at peace with you. And I'm willing to do anything you say. If it's to go out there and jump on another dog and cut his throat with my teeth for your safety. He can be a dog, just like me. I will do it. If you only will allow me to be the dog of your house. Just to live here in your house. And to give me something to eat because I don't like to go out in the jungles and hunt for my food. I want to eat that which you eat. And I want to have a place in your home and among your friends that I may stand around and lie down and lull out my tongue and to wag my tail to show you and your guests that I am a very good dog to you. And that I will always try and defend you against any enemy that you claim to be your enemy. If it's your brother and you don't want him to come into your gate, I will be the first to run out to attack them if you say so."

This is the act of a dog! Now, you say, "He's classifying us with a dog." No! YOU are classifying yourself with a dog's action. What could be a worse humiliation?... What could a worse disgrace than you standing before armed might of America trying to force them, you and your woman and especially your young girls and young boys, to accept you as their equals--to force them to allow you to eat in their places--force them to allow you to pray in their churches or to listen to them pray and sing--And be sure not to give you separate seats, let you sit beside them and they beside you? This is the apex of ignorancy!

I say, my brothers, my poor black sisters, whether you like what God has revealed to you for your salvation or whether you don't like it. You are making a universal fool out of yourself. You say, "We are making some in roads to this." In roads to what?! To force yourself on people that don't want you?

Even at that, just to say that I am trying to force a neighbor to open his door for me and he has told me, time and again, that he didn't want me and now has put his dogs on me to keep me away from his door. And now he is policing his door with police all armed with every weapon to prevent me from coming in his door, then I, yet, take my daughter...THINK OVER IT!... my daughter, that I should be trying to respect and protect, throw her down at their feet of unwanted guest--a people that does not want you as their guest, nor as their neighbor, nor as nothing but a slave Negro, as you always have been to the white man. A Negro slave in this country, America. Put my daughter and your daughter out there for the dogs to attack and for the police department to trample under feet and take them up and throw them into their police wagons to haul them down to the jail. Put them in there like cattle, just on the account of you, the father, being so ignorant that you want the enemy, your ever open enemy, who has been your enemy for four hundred years to recognize you as his equal.

You should suffer this disgrace. And the world should see you making such ignorant moves that you are making. You are telling the world that you don't want to leave America. You are telling the world, "I don't want to leave my slave master and his children, regardless to what treatment they give to me." Here comes out police. Here comes out even troops. Here comes the guards, the state troopers. All well-clad in their amour to fight you to the death to keep you from putting yourself in the house where that their white rich people say that they don't want you. Throw you out of their stores and out of their eating salons and out of their hotels, where you are forcing yourself on them.

This, I say, you are making a very ignorant fool of yourself and bringing grief and sorrow upon your own people abroad and here among you, for making such ignorant movement.

This is no way to achieve self respect and respect of others. You, first, achieve self respect and then, automatically, you will get others to respect you.

You are not prepared for total recognition of the white world and they know it. Therefore, they will not recognize you coming into their society as you are. You must clean yourself up and show that you respect yourself. Your loud mouth. Your filthy language you use. Your drunkenness that you use and make yourself unfit for any society. Your always wanting eye for other than your own makes you an unwanted guest in the society of any nation.

The poor so-called Negro have gotten the bulk of everything that is filth and ignorant and wicked. You want, the first thing, the freedom to be beside women other than your own race or beside men, freely, other than your own race.

The Black woman has always had the freedom to go and mix with white men and other races all over the earth, in a very lewd way. A very low way. But the Negro man has not. Now both wants a more freedom way to do this. And the white people that are helping you and want you to get this by putting themselves in march with you is also helping you to become a more permanent slave than you really are.

We want justice for you. God, Almighty, and the heavens above and beneath wants justice for the so-called American Negro. God, Almighty, wants to put you on top of civilization and not at the bottom. God, Almighty, wants you separated from your enemies who have spoiled and robbed and brought you to disgrace and shame. He wants to separate you from this people. And there He will deal with them. This is very well known by those that are kicking you around.

They would save themselves a lot of torture and headache if the would give you up, themselves, freely. And they, eventually, will, according to Divine Prophecy. But you are making the grave mistake today, of seeking a permanent future among them by asking them to let you work on their jobs without any plants, any factories, that you built.

You must remember that you must go for yourself. You must be yourself. You are a member of the aboriginal people of the earth, who built heaven and the earth. Take it for granted. This is the Truth.

Our people are the people who built the heavens and the earth. Not the ignorant people, who came up a few hundred years ago or a few thousand years ago, but them before that. The white man has been the ruler for 6,000 years. I'm not talking about the people that's under his rule, but the people before his rule--The Black people. They built things. God wants to restore the kingdom to that same original people. This is universally known. You are members of that people.

Why should you disgrace yourself in the mud of civilization that is now is on it's way out? Why should you do that?

We are an intelligent people. We are a people that love our own self, as white people love themselves. But, I say, they will talk integration with you. They like to see you a fool. They would like that you go and talk in a way that there is no way out for you unless there be some arrangement made that you live here with them. This is the most smartest false idea that could ever be preached to you.

You don't have to live with them, if you will accept Islam and the God, Who has now made Himself known in our midst. If you do that and come follow me, you have a place on this earth. Whether you are wanted here or not. The God that has appeared among us is able to give us a place. Not here but any where on the face of the earth that He wants to give us a place. He can remove nations at the twinkling of an eye and give you a place to live, if I must say so.

America don't have to kick you over the country as a dog. You have a place on this earth if you will go to your own Master and stop bowing to the master of this world. Their time is up for ruling the nation of Blackman. And you are asked to separate yourself from them and go for yourself and build for yourself, with the guidance of Almighty God, Allah, a place on this earth that you can call your own and a Nation that will out-shine in wisdom--The Nation that is now going out and off the scene.

You will do this if you only will accept my advice to you that God has given to you for the solution of this ugly and, I should say, grievous problem that you have been under for 400 years. It's solution is the answer. That is; Be Yourself, Join on to your own kind and a place on this earth that you can your own.

Dear gentlemen, stand firmly upon your feet and ask the government to give to you a place out of America or in America to yourself and that will stop all of this disgrace going on between the Nations--the two Nations.
