Many years ago at the Temple, located at 5335 South Greenwood Avenue in Chicago, Illinois, The Messenger was teaching on prominent Black persons who were exposed to the Teachings of Allah in Person, Master Fard Muhammad. Of course they did not receive the intensive wisdom and knowledge that The Messenger received, but were aided by what little knowledge they did get. One of the persons was George Washington Carver. The Messenger was challenged by two men in the audience to produce proof of this claim relating to Mr. Carver. The men said they wanted to "see something in writing." The Messenger had one of the Mosque secretaries take down the names and addresses of the two men and promised them he would get the proof and send it to them or they could come to The Temple to get it. The Messenger then requested that when the proof was obtained, would they come back to the Mosque and acknowledge with the same fervor, that what He stated about George Washington Carver was the truth. Of course, they agreed. Our team (5 R Films) was given the duty to find any document that would prove that Mr. Carver had direct knowledge of Allah. As you can imagine, everywhere we turned, all we heard was that Mr. Carver was a great scientist and most of all, a Christian! By Allah's grace, we completed our task. A copy of the enclosed letter was sent to the two men, who as I recall seemed angry that documented proof was found. Needless to say, they did not come back to The Mosque! The findings left many in shock.
