While admitting in the first column, of the slanderous article that begins on page 64 of the November, 1999 issue of Emerge Magazine, that on April 26, 1962 "In a memo from FBI headquarters to the Chicago field office, a high-level FBI official wrote:
'Chicago and Phoenix should make recommendations concerning the use of information thus obtained to discredit Muhammad with his followers. This could be handled through the used of carefully selected informants planting seeds of dissension through anonymous letters and/or telephone calls and through various other selected actions.'"
Emerge Magazine, which is published by BET (Black Entertainment Television) still choose to publish this defamatory article against Messenger Elijah Muhammad (peace be upon him). The article is representative of the malicious bad journalism of the Black media to show forth is love for white people, by standing firm against the only Black man in America (Messenger Elijah Muhammad) responsible for any permanent success that the Black man and woman in America has ever achieved. The reader of this article should ask his or her self, "If Elijah Muhammad was so bad, why would the FBI find it necessary after 20 years of spying, to "plant seeds of dissension through anonymous letters and/or telephone calls and through various other selected actions". The Memo shows that the DEVIL (WHITE MAN) aka FBI did everything it could to destroy the Nation of Islam. But HISTORY has shown that THEY COULD NOT DESTROY THE NATION OF ISLAM (OR MESSENGER ELIJAH MUHAMMAD'S TEACHINGS)
The FBI had concocted files on Messenger Elijah Muhammad twenty years before this "memo" was written.

FOR THE PURPOSE OF RESPONDING PUBLICLY TO THE INFORMATION STATED IN THE ARTICLE MUHAMMAD SPEAKS HAS PRINTED BELOW THE TEXT OF THE ARTICLE IN WHITE AND COMMENTS BY MUHAMMAD SPEAKS IN RED.
The following is the text of the article that was published in the November, 1999 issue of Emerge Magazine, which is introduced on the cover as "Explosive New Book on Elijah Muhammad".

On November 21, [Elijah Muhammad] was talking to a paramour in Chicago about a diamond ring he was buying for her from the Zales Jewelry Store. He had deposited $500 toward the $1,300 ring. "Are you happy?" Elijah asked her. Yes, the young woman replied, saying that "the only jewelry I've ever owned was quartz." They bantered about other rings he had considered for her but rejected because the stones were too small. [was this one of the "anonymous telephone calls" placed by "selected informants"?] As he hung up, Clara burst into the room and accused her husband of betrayal. She said that she was sick of him writing letters to his secretaries all over Creation and talking lovey-dovey on the phone and of catching him and Bernique in compromising situations. Elijah denied all the allegations. he had not received any letters from any women, nor had he been talking with them by phone. As for Bernique, well, that was all a misunderstanding. [were the "seeds of dissension" taking root?]
To avoid any further misunderstanding, Clara decided to leave. "I can't stay in the same house with that woman," she told her daughter during a call to Chicago. Bernique stayed with Muhammad, playing the role of secretary, nurse and homemaker. After several weeks, he was beset with melancholy. He had no appetite and sustained a seventeen-pound weight loss, a lot for a frail man in poor health. Doctors urged him to go to the Mayo Clinic for treatment., but he refused.
Knowledge of Muhammad's extramarital activities was no longer limited to an elite cabal; everyone in Mosque No. 2 knew. There were jokes about how divine seed was sprouting all over the secretarial pool, and even a double entendre about secretaries spending most of their time in Muhammad's office taking dictation.
On April 23, after still another argument with Elijah, [Clara] applied for a passport, which was issued the next day. According to the U.S. Passport Office, Clara indicated that she would be visiting her son in Cairo from approximately two months. The talking walls in her house, however, revealed another plan: that she wanted to leave her husband, and that she was thinking of remaining in Cairo.
On April 26, 1962, the Bureau began discussing ways to use the information it had gathered on Muhammad's extramarital affairs as a COINTELPRO ploy [What exactly is that?]. In a memo from FBI headquarters to the Chicago field office, a high-level FBI official wrote:

While agents dreamt up ways to implement the suggestion from FBI headquarters, Clara and Herbert [another son] make final arrangements for their trip to Egypt. On April 30, a source at Trans World Airlines told Chicago FBI agents that Clara and Herbert were leaving on TWA Flight 800 from O'Hare International Airport at three o'clock on the afternoon of May 3. Clara's ticket was one-way to Cairo, the flight's final destination after several stops in Europe. The day after Clara left, Muhammad's mistresses flooded him with phone calls [more "anonymous telephone calls" placed by "selected informants"?]. All of them wanted the same thing: money.
All of the women who had worked for the Messenger as personal secretaries and who had become pregnant were young, unmarried, and fascinated by his supposed divine powers. Some of these young women had joined the NOI in the first place in hopes of marrying Malcolm. Two of them, Evelyn and Lucille, [more "selected informants"?] had even dated Malcolm in the 1940's and he and Evelyn had once seriously considered marriage. In fact, when it was announced that Malcolm was marrying Betty X Sanders in 1958, Evelyn jumped up from her seat and ran screaming out of the mosque. A further irony was that Malcolm had personally recommended most of the young women involved for the secretarial jobs ["selected informants"? The memo never said who would do the selecting] , and Muhammad had offered to give Betty a job just a few days before she and Malcolm eloped....
Malcolm quietly contacted three of the former secretaries to verify what was being said, and discovered that one of the young women Muhammad had been sleeping with was a relative [relative of Malcolm's??? "selected informant"?] . After hearing their accounts, he wrote Muhammad a long letter about the matter and asked for an appointment to discuss it.
In April 1963, Malcolm went to Phoenix to confront his surrogate father. He spoke candidly with him, and Muhammad was equally blunt. Yes, Muhammad confessed, he had done all the things of which he stood accused. Malcolm suggested that the scandal be broken to the faithful gradually and in biblical terms, and the Messenger seemed pleased with that: "You always have had such a good understanding of prophecy and of spiritual things," he said in a slow, soft, way. "You recognized that's what all of this is - prophecy. You have the kind of understanding that only an old man has..."I'm David, "the Messenger went on. "When you read about how David took another man's wife, I'm that David. You read about Noah, who got drunk - that's me. You read about Lot, who sent and laid up with his own daughters. I have to fulfill all of those things." [What's this??? "Information to discredit Muhammad with his followers?]
Malcolm was shocked by Muhammad's admission of guilt and his appalling fatalism. he went to Wallace [the chief hypocrite and son of Messenger Elijah Muhammad, who was responsible for tearing the the Nation of Islam after Messenger Elijah Muhammad (peace be upon him) died in 1975.] to see if they could come up with some plan to rescue the NOI from what now appeared to be its imminent demise. Wallace, however, was as pessimistic as his father. He had already tried to discuss the matter with him, he told Malcolm, but "my father doesn't want to be helped. He doesn't want to mend his ways." Wallace also told Malcolm that Elijah was so angered by his [Wallace's] questions, that he suspended him as minister of the Philadelphia mosque. When Malcolm ask Wallace why he supposed that his father felt that way. Wallace's answer was frightening in both its simplicity and its implications; Muhammad had been worshiped as the final Messenger of God for so long that he had convinced himself it was true.
Though dispirited, Malcolm could not free himself from his ned to believe in Muhammad as a divine messenger. He turned to the Holy Bible and the Holy Quran to study the lives of prophets whose weaknesses were recorded there for all time. He found dozens of stories in the Holy Bible about prophets and their imperfections. A few were murderers, others were adulterers, and some were both. Malcolm again suggested that it would be a good idea to confide in some of the top ministers and to begin delivering sermons about the shortcomings of Biblical prophets. That way, when the rank and file of the Messenger's flock found out about the illegitimate children, they might be able to put it into some kind of perspective. Muhammad told Malcolm that he could tell select ministers. "But don't tell Brother Louis," Muhammad cautioned, referring to Louis Farrakhan of Boston. Malcolm returned to New York, saying nothing to temple officers of his troubling conversation with the Messenger. The only one he confided in was his wife, Betty.
...In Washington, FBI officials handling the COINTELPRO campaign against the NOI were given to understand that finally the timing was right to demolish the sect. [It didn't work! The Nation of Islam was more successful after the "Cointelpro campaign" than before it was concocted.] Several field offices had COINTELPRO operations ready, any combination of which had the potential to bring Muhammad down. It could exploit the extramarital scandal or aggravate hostilities between Wallace and his father and Malcolm's budding disenchantment. It could release its most recent findings on Wallace D. Fard, information of suh and explosive nature that is was bound to rattle Muhammad. [Messenger Elijah Muhammad offered $10,000.000 to the Hearst-owned newspaper to PROVE THE FALSE CHARGES, which they could not prove] CLICK HERE TO VIEW MESSENGER ELIJAH MUHAMMAD'S REBUTTAL TO THE FALSE ALLEGATIONS BY THE DEVIL-OWNED NEWSPAPER.While agents mulled over the first two ideas, the third was launched. In July, newspapers suddenly ran stories [lies] about Fard's "true identity." The first to break the story was the Los Angeles Herald Examiner, part of the Heart-owned chain. "Black Muslim Founder Exposed as a White," the large headline read. According to the story, accompanied by mug shots and a copy of a birth certificate, there was exceptionally strong evidence [there was in fact no real evidence] that Fard was in fact a Los Angeles confidence man named Wallace Dodd. It also alleged that Fard was a confidence man who bilked black people in the name of religion. [Master Fard Muhammad came July 4, 1930. There was a DEPRESSION. What could anyone have "bilked" black people out of at that time] The article, which was carried in other Hearst owned papers across the country, was among the most successful COINTELPRO actions against the NOI [Emerge Magazine hopes that the article you are now reading will be successful against the Nation of Islam, But while they plan, Allah plans and HE IS THE BEST OF PLANNERS].
...The story died down with little long-term effect on the NOI, (just as this Emerge Magazine will do) but the Bureau had succeeded in the sense that it had planted another seed of doubt in the minds of some Muslims (just as this Emerge Magazine will do to Blind deaf and dumb black people who continue to allow the devil and his imps, such as Karl Evanzz, to drop negative seeds, a.k.a. lies in their minds against Allah's Last and Greatest Messenger, without realizing that THE DIVIDE AND CONQUER technique has been used by the white man to separate brother against brother, since he was made 6,000 years ago.), perhaps even Malcolm.
The FBI also regarded its COINTELPRO aimed at ending Muhammad's marriage as a minor victory (Which also failed. Sister Clara Muhammad remained married to Messenger Elijah Muhammad until her death in 1972. Messenger Elijah Muhammad never remarried). While the anonymous letters to Clara had caused problems, FBI agents noted ruefully that it was unlikely that Clara would leave Muhammad permanently because she was too economically dependent upon him. Besides, Muhammad was doing a good job of destroying his marriage without interference from the Bureau. (if that was so, why any interference from "the Bureau" at all?) The only sure means of destroying the sect, agents concluded, was through internal bickering among the leadership. If it couldn't discredit the Messenger, agents wrote, the Bureau would try to provoke a war between the Messenger , Wallace and Malcolm X. (The followers of Messenger Elijah Muhammad were taught all too well concerning hypocrites. It is a well known fact that both Wallace and Malcolm X turned hypocrite against Allah, Who came in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad and His Last and Greatest Messenger, The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. The Messenger taught, "Hypocrites are liars")
...On October 18, 1963, FBI agents approached Lucille Rosary, Muhammad's former secretary and presently disgruntled mistress. They just wanted to ask some general questions, they said, like whether it was true that the Messenger was the father of her children. There was nothing the agents couldn't tell her about her personal life. They knew the date of her birth and the size of her feet, her telephone number and how many times she called Muhammad each week. She was afraid of them in the way one is afraid them in the way one is afraid of anyone with the power to violate one's privacy. But her fear of Muhammad was greater; the FBI would have to look elsewhere for a turncoat.
Malcolm was alarmed when Lucille told him about the FBI's visit because he suspected that the Bureau planned to use the Messenger's excesses to destroy the NOI. He visited Wallace in Philadelphia and told him what was going on, asking him again if there was anything they could do to head off the FBI's exploitation of the scandal. Not only was his father continuing to engage in extramarital activities, Wallace said, but "things were getting worse...my father doesn't want to be helped."
If Muhammad wouldn't help himself, Malcolm decided, perhaps he and certain ministers could help him. (The Devil -White man has been trying to make some kind of hero out of Malcolm since he turned hypocrite against Allah and His Messenger. As much as we all know the Devil, white man, hated Malcolm X, he tries to uplift him in the face of the Mentally dead Blackman because he knows you are yet dead to the knowledge of him, that The white man is actually THE REAL DEVIL)...

Your commentary (to say nothing of your spelling and grammar) on the
Emerge piece is miles off base. Emerge is no more aiding the so-called
"FBI ploy" than I am. The Messenger's telephone was tapped for decades,
and some of the transcripts (or summaries) have become available. You
can not judge the truth of something by examining a small part of it;
when you do, you operate in ignorance.
Read the book, then comment to your heart's content. But by all
means, stop telling people that the "Sky is falling" every time you see
a dark cloud. I would strongly recommend that you read Minister Akbar
Muhammad's commentary in the Chicago Defender of Oct. 25, and my reply
on November 1, before you expend too much time trying to analyze an
adaptation of the book.

It's good to hear from you again, Brother. I really appreciate you taking time out to "check" with the publisher concerning me posting your article printed in the November, 1999 issue Emerge Magazine. And I am thankful to the publisher that he "has no problem with (me) posting the excerpt" But I wonder what he means by excerpt. An excerpt is "a passage or segment taken from a longer work." I am well aware that I have a legal right (without your permission or the publisher's permission) to post an excerpt. But you and I both know that is not what I am doing with your article. You KNOW that it is my full intention to post the entire article, line by line. And that is what I asked your permission to do when I said ( I ASK FOR YOUR PERMISSION - BLACKMAN, to continue to defend his honor in the manner I have begun.)
As a writer, I am sure that you are well aware of the FACT that when people read what you write, they READ BETWEEN THE LINES and gather not only what you write but also what you MEAN or are IMPLYING when you write. In your Email to me regarding the "Copyright issue" the following (in red) were your exact words:

This is what I mean when I say, "stop acting like the devil". Devils like to TWIST and Turn the truth. They have trouble "COMING STRAIGHT", as snakes tend to walk a "CROOKED" path. I never called you an "Uncle Tom" or a "Boot-licker", as those terms are not as accurate as I would like to describe your actions. Imp (a mischievous child, a small demon), however is much closer to how I would describe your actions.
I did take your advice and I checked with legal counsel concerning this matter. He advised me not to rely on Email as permission being granted. He informed me that if you truly want to give me permission that you would mail me a hard copy granting permission with your signature attached to it.
Since as you say, "I would hate to see you get sued when a simple request to post the article would have avoided any possibility of a problem." I am making a simple request to you, THE AUTHOR, for permission, in writing, to continue my defense to your charges against Messenger Elijah Muhammad, in the manner I have begun.
And since, as you say, "The publisher has no problem with (me) posting the excerpt", I'm sure he wouldn't mind stating that in writing too.
You say your book is "a well-balanced study of the Messenger's life -- the good and the bad." The good and the bad of the Messenger Elijah Muhammad's life is NOT BALANCED! His good OUTWEIGHED His bad! He was The Last Messenger of Allah!
You have not "proved" that the things Malcolm X said about the Messenger were true. And if you think you have, what is your Proof? FBI records? Do you really believe that such "concocted", as you put it, records should be taken as PROOF? Especially after reading an FBI memo that shows that the intentions of the FBI were, TO DIVIDE AND CONQUER, the Nation of Islam?
No sir, I don't want you to "play dead", you ARE dead (MENTALLY) and I am not name-calling. That is a fact. I want you to WAKE UP!
You said I called you "everything but the son of Satan", but that is the ONLY thing I did call you. We, Black people, were raised by the Devil. He has become our "stepfather", so to speak. For four hundred years, we copied his example of the way we should act and think, because we had no other example to follow. This is the time now that we MUST stop acting like the devil and accept our own and be our self.
It doesn't make me any difference whether people buy your book or not. I have no control over that. All I want to do is defend Allah's Last and Greatest Messenger, with TRUTH!
And I must say we do agree on one thing, Brother, "Truth will always win."
