| 1 cup rice |
| 1/4 stick butter |
| 2 dashes of tumeric |
| 2 cups cold water |
| 1/4 tsp. salt |
Wash rice 3 or 4 times, rubbing it between the hands. Drain off water, melt butter in skillet, add rice and brown. Stir it continually to keep from burning. Add water and seasonings, cover, let simmer or boil. Lower the flame and steam until the rice is well done. DO NOT STIR RICE WHILE SIMMERING OR BOILING.
